As part of the consortium for the “Indoor AR Navigation Content Development for the National Museum of Korea” project, the goal was to deliver a convenient and engaging personalized exhibition experience by combining cutting-edge IT technology with cultural heritage. EVR Studio handled spatial data post-processing, 2D map creation, AR content development, artifact interpretation content and service features, as well as overall project management. UOK was responsible for spatial scanning, positioning data processing, and network data infrastructure. Solbox, a Naver Cloud service partner, provided operational support for the digital twin solution ARC eye, the foundation of the AR navigation feature, and delivered managed cloud operation services for AR navigation content deployed on the public cloud.
Eighteen artifacts (as of May 2024), including King Muryeong’s Tomb, Animal Motif Bricks, and Stele of King Jinheung’s Royal Tour, were transformed into AR content. High-resolution polygon and texture processing enabled an unprecedented level of detail for AR artifacts, accurately reproducing fine features such as cracks, chips, and engraved patterns for a lifelike experience. An AR navigation system and exhibition guide app were implemented, allowing visitors to search for and navigate directly to artifacts, enhancing convenience. Tour guidance and exhibition hall introductions transformed the entire museum into an interactive content platform. All AR content and related functionalities were built on the Naver Cloud Platform, leveraging its scalability to accommodate both growing content volumes and increasing visitor traffic, ensuring a stable and seamless service.
